New England-based extreme metal quintet Aversed has revealed a video for the scientific-inspired track “Laboratory” from the band’s upcoming release, Impermanent. Watch the video for “Laboratory” today via Toilet Ov Hell at https://toiletovhell.com/premiere-aversed-laboratory/. Drummer Jeff Saltzman states that: “‘Laboratory’ turns self-reflection and actualization on its head, discussing the consequences of ignoring and exploiting the natural world for our own gain regardless of its spiritual or intellectual benefit. In this interconnected world, we sow the seeds of our mechanized destruction if we only look inward rather than aim to help others." “Laboratory” was inspired by Saltzman’s own time working in a biology laboratory and its effects on the world outside of the lab. “Despite our cutting-edge research, we weren’t helping a soul. What’s the point? ‘Laboratory’ is my criticism of the pursuit of scientific progress just for the sake of progress.” AVERSED’s Impermanent is set for release on March 19. Mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy, The Agonist, Shadow of Intent), Impermanent illustrates AVERSED’s unique approach to songwriting with nine diverse compositions full of catchy hooks and vast melodies. Pre-orders for Impermanent are available now at https://aversed.bandcamp.com/merch. In addition to the album, a variety of bundles are also available, as well as a brand new t-shirt design. AVERSED offered fans a glimpse of the album last month with a video for the title track. Watch the video for “Impermanent” now at https://youtu.be/mVqdIzCtqxM. With the release of Impermanent, AVERSED presents a metal experience cultivated of unprecedented beauty and torment. The third release following 2011’s self-titled EP and 2016’s Renewal EP, Impermanent marks a turning point for the New England scene veterans as they pivot from melodic death metal towards a nuanced balance of blackened and orchestral melodic metal. English extreme metal group Ghosts Of Atlantis are pleased to debut their cinematic journey for the next track from their debut album "3.6.2.4". The bands sound is an epic journey for the listener, full of beautiful melodies, backed up by a crushing assault with emotive lyrics. Building the lore around the mythology of ancient Greece and Atlantis, GOA delivers it's own story, a story weaving both historic findings and fantasy storytelling. The album begins with the track "The Third Pillar", this first track ties in with the band’s 'Three Pillar' logo, and sets the tone. The bands debut album entitled "3.6.2.4" will be out March 26th worldwide via Black Lion Records in CD, LP and digital formats. "The Third Pillar" tells the tale of the great pilgrimage by the Atlantean people. The path to the Lemuiran Halls are treacherous, blinded by belief, the people embark across the lands. The ultimate goal being to reach the Three Pillars, it is said that the pillars are the sole point of contact with the Ghosts. The elders teach of the ability to unlock time travel and magic, yet, to raise the Ghosts, they must first survive the journey. The new album will be released on March 12, 2021 and pre-orders are now live HERE. Listen to 'Turbulence' via the official Season of Mist YouTube channel HERE. The link may be freely spread throughout your channels. Founder Michel Nienhuis comments:- ‘Turbulence’ is a song about an ongoing realization and understanding of internal conflict. Change is necessary and inevitable but seems unattainable and out of range. ‘Turbulence’ is the first full blown song of the album and is quite representative of the Autarkh sound – up-tempo blasts versus downtempo grooves, locking harmonies versus chaotic dissonance and ethereal layers versus dark growls. This visualizer is the result of a first experiment of our producer and sound designer Joris Bonis with his analogue oscilloscopes from the 1970’s, that generate images based on audio. We invite you to join in on this new chapter of our musical evolution.
Autarkh have previously revealed the album cover for 'Form in Motion', and can be viewed together with the album details above. From the fertile grounds of Tilburg rises new contemporary metal outfit Autarkh, a group of musical extremists dedicated to pushing the boundaries of the auditory senses. Autarkh is the brainchild of Michel Nienhuis, founding member and composer/guitarist of Dodecahedron. Dodecahedron released 2 albums on the French record label Season Of Mist in 2012 and 2017 and has played at Inferno festival (NO), Reykjavík Metalfest (IS) Brutal Assault (CZ), Roadburn Festival (NL) and Eurosonic (NL) amongst others. Death and illness was closing in on Dodecahedron, triggering a conceptual transformation that was necessary to effectuate Nienhuis’ artistic development. In the fall of 2019 Nienhuis teamed up with producer Joris Bonis (Dodecahedron, Ulsect), guitarist David Luiten and electronic composer / producer Tijnn Verbruggen, a set of musicians with backgrounds ranging from metal to techno. Autarkh’s first full length album ‘Form In Motion’ will be released the 12th of March 2021 through Season of Mist records. Autarkh takes a unique position in the world of extreme metal. Synthetic, IDM-style beats and glitch effects - reminiscent of those produced by artists such as Aphex Twin and Autechre - are perfectly balanced with overwhelming riffs and vocals that range from dark growls and exasperating screams to semi-clean harmonies. Together with fluttering blast beats, dense bass lines and eerie soundscapes these elements produce an intense and crystal clear tunnel of sound where the energy of contrasting emotions is constantly felt. ‘Form In Motion’ feels like an evolution in both sound and lyrical content from the two albums Nienhuis released with Dodecahedron. Musically, because of the radical approach the band takes with their rhythm section; lyrically because the album is more about a personal experience of human nature and the nature of the universe. The album takes us from unravelling storms and destructive chaos to transformation, liberation and fundamental shifts in understanding in order to align with the divine. That progression is also present in a linear sense – the intrusive uneasiness the album starts with gives way to a sense of epic victory towards the end. Give yourself the opportunity to dive into this radical exploration of sonic and spiritual ideas and allow yourself to get inspired by what Autarkh has to offer. The music is penned as more of a black metal approach, focusing on depressive subject matter, and delving into even darker places than his usual lyrical themes. The first single, "Another Side of Sadness" is due for a digital release on all major platforms Friday 18th December via Presolus Records, a 3-track EP will follow. Andy commented:- “I sometimes find myself filled with creativity, but no outlet. There are many ideas and emotions i feel need translated into music, but often isn’t achievable in a full band set up. For this reason i began Sollein; writing music without boundaries, no constrictions i usually feel compelled to impose on myself. I have introduced synth, multiple guitars, clean vocal over-laced with a black metal delivery. The result has been an emotive, depressive listen. This makes me happy.” Formed in of 2020, Sollein is a single man musical project, composed by Andy Clarke of The Crawling. Sollein is currently a studio project designed to provide a creative release for the feelings of solitude, depression and purposelessness we have all found ourselves in. Metal meets kyl-kobyz, a Kazakh ethnic instrument, in ZaRRaZa's new music video for "The Grudge '19." Watch it here: https://youtu.be/8DBiUFsL77A The video was filmed in the mountains around Big Almaty Lake in Almaty, Kazakhstan and features guest musician Anar Kassymova playing kobyz and kyl-kobyz. The band said of the filming process, "There is a belief that every time someone approach sacred places in the mountains, spirits send out bad weather to keep away uninvited guests. It seems a stone bowl of giant boulders near the Big Almaty Lake is such a special place. While filming on the lake went smoothly, the same task in stone bowl was a challenge. Every time we started shooting, it was snowing. When we stopped filming, the snow stopped too. We'd start to shoot again -- and again, the snow! But in the video, it looks good. No harm done." "The Grudge '19" is off ZaRRaZa's upcoming EP Rotten Remains, due out November 29, 2019. Pre-order available here: https://zarraza.bandcamp.com/album/rotten-remains Kazakhstan may be the wrong part of the planet to play extreme metal, but ZaRRaZa (which means an "infection" or "unbearable person" in Russian) aren’t the kind of band to let a little thing like geography stop them. Having formed in 2012 with their Bullets & Beliefs demo, ZaRRaZa has quickly jumped to the head of the metal pack in Central Asia. Not only has the band been featured in Metal Hammer’s legendary "United Nations" series, but they have also had their music reviewed by Asking Alexandria! Their hard work culminated in being named one of the top five best bands in Central Asia as per regional powerhouse Kaktakto.com. The first band to have done a DIY tour in the region back in 2013 on the back of their Cutting Meat. Fast & Loud EP, they seem to eagerly be leaping from peak to peak. In 2014, the band toured with the Austrian grindcore freaks in VxPxOxAxAxWxAxMxC. This led to opportunities not just in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, but also the chance to open for groups like TYR, ROTTING CHRIST and ARKONA. They even were able to tour with Hungarian icons, EKTOMORF in 2018 and with metal gods SEPULTURA (2019). On October 24 band will open show in Almaty (Kazakhstan's largest city) for HAIL! Project. This willingness to slug it out makes sense for a band who sings about controlling your inner demons and using them to resist oppression of any kind. After years of inner turmoil and grinding it out in the underground the band released their first full length, Necroshiva, in 2018. It was recorded in Almaty, then mixed in Moscow by Arkadiy Navaho (KATALEPSY, SIBERIAN MEAT GRINDER). On May 11, 2019 Necroshiva was released in China via MusicDish. The cover art, done by Vladimir Chebakov, was recently featured in the book Heavy Metal Artwork: Masterpieces, 2018. Now on the eve of releasing the Rotten Remains EP, it seems like the future has never been brighter for these Kazakh extreme metal devotees. ZaRRaZa is:

Tempe, Arizona-based technical death metal/symphonic black metal hybrid act Singularity are excited to announce the release of their second full-length, Place of Chains, on October 11th via The Artisan Era. It is the follow up to the group's highly praised 2016 EP, Void Walker, which was preceded by their 2014 self-titled album that put the band on the map. Place of Chains sports eye-popping cover art from Justin Abraham who has created art for Equipoise, Inanimate Existence, Lecherous Nocturne, A Loathing Requiem, Æpoch, and more. Place of Chains was mixed by Inferi and Oubliette guitarist Mike Low, and Mastered by Anagnorisis guitarist Zak Denham. Since their formation in 2010, Singularity has continually shown themselves to be a forward-thinking act, one with a bold vision built on fusing technical death metal and symphonic black metal together in a myriad of ways. Now in 2019, Singularity's years of hard work and commitment to their craft has paid off with their most accomplished material yet on Place of Chains. Bombastic and brutal, Place of Chains exists as a unique crossover between worlds, in doing so, Singularity has delivered a powerful album that will surely be ranked among as one of 2019's best death metal releases. Further enhancing the quality of Place of Chains is a bevy of high profile guest spots from Inferi guitarist Malcolm Pugh adding further orchestration throughout the album, a song co-written by Equipoise guitarist Nick Padovani plus a guest solo, as well as guest vocals from Arkaik vocalist Jared Christianson and Animus Complex vocalist Jeremy Davis. The band states that Place of Chains will strongly appeal to fans of Fleshgod Apocalypse, Vale of Pnath, Old Man's Child, Dimmu Borgir, and the first album from Irreversible Mechanism. *You can listen to an album teaser video for Singularity - Place of Chains HERE Singularity comments on the release of Place of Chains:- "Place of Chains is the translation to the song title "Desmoterion" which lyrically illustrates the emotions of being wrongfully imprisoned. Considering that many of the songs on this record lyrically are about enslavement, we felt it was a good over-arching title for the record. We strongly believe that this is the best Singularity record so far. Singularity would also like to thank our guest artists that we had the privilege of having on this record. With every record, we try to further hone in on what the core of Singularity's sound is and what we want to bring to the world of metal." Stay tuned for more Singularity news, pre-orders, early singles, and more coming soon. The song ”Resolution” appears on ”Denial/Survival” album, released in 2017. Mikko, a vocalist-guitarist of Antipope, describes the song as being ‘the conclusion for the previous album. At the same time, it points unremittingly towards the next album, which heralds the beginning of the new era of Antipope.’ Presently, Antipope is finalizing a new full-length album, being the fifth album by the group. The band has hinted at presenting more details about the upcoming album in the form of album title, tracklist, and artwork during the autumn of 2019. The band from São Paulo is currently putting the final touches on their new, 11th studio album, entitled "Eye In Hell", which will be released on LP, CD and digital in early 2020 worldwide on the Danish label. The artwork will be done by Roberto Toderico (Tygers Of Pan Tang, Pestilence, Sinister) and mastering will happen in Medley Studio (Artillery, Thorium, Glenn Hughes), Copenhagen. Zhema Rodero, guitar player and Vulcano founder, has the following to say about the deal:- "This is a great opportunity in our career and we are very proud about it. Wait for our new album in the next months. It will be a great push in the direction of the metalheads all over the world. Vulcano is a part of the Brazilian Unholy Trinity (together with Sarcófago and Sepultura). In fact, it was the first of the three bands to release a studio album, back in 1986. Ever since then, the group have released 10 full-length albums, toured the world and kept the South-American extreme metal alive. Fernando Reis, Mighty Music's international promoter, adds:- "Vulcano is one of the bands that still holds the torch of extreme metal of the 80's - raw, undisputed, honest. It's an honour and a pleasure to work with these Brazilian brothers and help show the metalheads - old school and new school - how authentic extreme music sounds like".
